Timeline
Grievances must be filed within 15 days of the date the student or parent first knew, or with reasonable diligence should have known, of the decision or action giving rise to the complaint, unless modified by mutual written consent. Hearings will be scheduled within the time set in policy.
Step-by-Step Process

Please try to resolve the issue informally by discussing it first with the campus principal, department head, or relevant administrator. Almost all matters in Idalou ISD are resolved at this level. We want to work with individuals to solve issues in a direct and timely manner.

If the issue is not resolved informally, you may file a formal grievance following the procedures below:

Parent/Student Complaint (FNG)

Complete the appropriate form and submit it to Idalou ISD Central Office at 601 South Walnut, Idalou, TX 79329 in person.

Parents/Students: Once submitted, your grienvance will be filed with an appropriate administrator, which is usually the lowest level administrator who has the authority to remedy the alleged problem.

If the grievance is not resolved at Level One, you may file an appeal by completing a Level Two form, to be obtained in person at the Idalou ISD Central Office:

Level Two Parent/Student Appeal (FNG): obtained in person at Idalou ISD Central Office, 601 South Walnit, Idalou TX 79329

Submit the Appeal:

Parents/Students/Public: Submit the form in person at the Idalou ISD Central Office and it will be filed with a Level Two administrator.

If the student, parent, or community member did not receive the relief requested at Level Two or if the time for a response has expired, the student, parent, or community member may appeal the decision to the Board. The appeal shall be heard and ultimately considered by the Board.
