- Do not send your child to school if he/she is ill. This includes, but is not limited to, vomiting, diarrhea, undiagnosed rash, and/or temperature over 100*
- If your child takes prescribed medication, it needs to be in the original bottle with the original prescriptions labels. A signed consent form from the school nurse must be completed by parent/guardian. If your child misses a school day due to illness, please bring a doctor’s note to the school nurse or front office secretary.
- Please remember that your student will need the state-mandated immunizations to start school. Please bring updated immunization records as soon as your student gets his/her shots.
- Regular checkups with your doctor are an important part of the growth and development of your child.

Department of State Health services required screenings: vision, hearing, & spinal
Vision & hearing: first-time Texas entrants, 4-year olds by September 1st, K, 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th
Spinal: Girls 5th & 7th; boys 8th
The tests conducted in school to evaluate your child’s vision, hearing, and spinal health are screens; they are not diagnostic. This means that if your child fails a screen, it is necessary for them to be evaluated by a care provider to determine if there is a problem. It also means that some conditions exist that screens will not identify.
