My name is Margaret Shipley. I'm a 1980 graduate of Idalou High School and I graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Since 1985, I've been teaching first graders at Idalou Elementary School. I've been married to John since 1992 and we are the parents of Robby, who is a 2013 graduate of IHS and is currently a student at WTAMU, and Shannon, who is a 2015 graduate of IHS and is a student at TTU. 

My favorite subjects to teach are math and social studies. When I'm not at school, I like to read, scrapbook, and spend time with my family. I love football, especially Idalou Wildcat football and I cheer for the Texas Aggies too.  I love classic rock, chocolate, Mexican food, Coke, NCIS,  The Big Bang Theory, George Strait and anything to do with history.

I think that reading to and with your child is vital to your child’s success at school and that you are your child's first, and most important, teacher. I look forward to working with you to make your child's first grade year successful.
